Wonderful stay and thoroughly wonderful hosts, Tony and Darlene. If your fancy goes that way, take an early morning sitwith fresh coffee, in the Rocking Chairs on the folly, and enjoy the wonderful birds and squirrels dancing on the front lawn while the sun sneaks over Waynesville between the peaks, miles away. Or do what the good lady did, soak for a long time in a wondrful claw foot bath , then walk to the great restaurants of the FROG Level. Special place now for the second time. Thanks to the Mayor and his Lady; Gavin and Katee Brown for a great chat.
Wonderful B&B where the rehab of this old homestead has been excellently done. Darlene and Tony, who have owned and run the B&B for the past 6 years, are wonderful hosts and keep the place immaculate and clean. Their facility rated a perfect "100.0" from the NC Dept. of Health. Darlene makes muffins snacks she'll hand you after breakfast and bakes cookies available throughout the day. Large porch and yard at the back of the house with places to sit and relax under the huge Oak trees. D&T are ready to recommend restaurants, driving tours and places of interest. Waynesville is well centered between Asheville and Smoky Mtn. NP. Lots of choices for easier day trips on the BG Parkway. Rooms are large. Beds are comfortable. As it is an older house, not really wheelchair accessible, but several rooms on 1st floor can serve someone with limited mobility well enough. Recommend for couples. Come during the weekdays and you may get special treatment for breakfast and the restaurants in town are not as crowded.
7Sept 2017 Once again , Darlene and Toni have given us a 3 day break to savour the peace. Great spot to travel to the local highlights as a friend who joined us says. we did the parkway, Cherokee, Biltmore and more with a fantastic bed and peaceful surrounds - thanks guys.
Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to be immediately greeted and shown the outside grounds and inside sitting room and dining room before showing us our beautiful room. The bedding was gorgeous and the furniture and decor were attractive and solid antiques (but most importantly we later experienced sound sleep- very cozy bed and pillows). It was a special treat to find a sweet card with a couple chocolates wishing us a Happy Anniversary ❤️. We enjoyed the porch and gazebo sitting areas which overlooked the beautiful town of Waynesville and expansive mountain backdrop--- next time we hope to get to enjoy the fire pit and corn hole game. All together the atmosphere was warm and the inn keepers, Tony and Darlene were quick to accommodate every need and desire of our stay. Including arranging a couples massage in our room (very relaxing). Oh the breakfast--- WOW- Darlene is a super cook-- she wowed us every morning and the afternoon cookies were THE BEST. ... Ok--- a bit of a confession... real truth time--- I'm a germaphobe. I take cleaning products everywhere I go and clean before I can relax ...but there was NOTHING I could find to clean. Seriously. The room was neat as a pin- the bathroom was spotless. There was not even a spec of dust ANYWHERE - the corners and shoe mold were shiny clean. I can honestly say that I cannot come up with even one bad or negative thing to say about our stay--- it was a perfect home away from home. The GREATEST place EVER to stay! Homey, relaxing and cozy!!! I didn't want to leave...
A fantastic place that is nestled in the heart of the community. The house (a registered National Historic Place) is in a perfect location for not only great views, but easily accessible to all the trendy places Waynesville has to offer. The house and the rooms are fantastic. The rooms are spacious, come with great amenities, and are meticulously maintained. The breakfast is out of this world. Each morning we were treated to a 3 course breakfast!!! WOW! The owners are personable and are willing to help with anything from extra towels to local sights to even dinner reservations. Oak Hill was perfect and we will definitely be back again.
My wife and I stayed at Oak Hill the first weekend of November. What an amazing place! This was our first time visiting a B&B and we were a little nervous about what to expect. The location and house were gorgeous, but the Innkeepers, Tony and Darlene, made this a truly amazing experience. The breakfast was incredible and all the little touches around this certainly made you feel at home. The landscaping is fantastic. We were able to sit around a nice fire every night and have great discussion with our fellow travelers. They also know Waynesville and the surrounding area and are glad to recommend things to see and great places to eat. Darlene even made reservations for us at a couple of her favorite restaurants in Waynesville. We will definitely be back!
