The Haywood Smokehouse was recommended to me by a gentleman from Memphis. Said the barbecue was up there with Memphis barbecue. I found it hard to believe but am so glad he recommended it to me. The ribs have a great rub and flavor to them. The brisket was so juicy and moist. I'm a collard person but I tried them and they are remarkable. I highly recommend going there. I will definitely be returning. Oh also the service was fantastic.
Of all the places we ate on our trip this was the best! All of the ingredients and meats are top quality. Nothing was bad. Service is exceptional as well we had our food less than 5 minutes after ordering both times. Highly recommend!
After reading so many wonderful reviews my family and I decided to check it out. The atmosphere and staff were great. However, the food was just fair. All six of us got the fried squash as a side because our waitress highly recommended and all six of us left the majority of the squash on our plate when we left. Too much breading, over cooked and hard. Baked beans and mac and cheese were pretty good. Now as for the BBQ... I should have sent my brisket back. Usually when ordering brisket you get a nice thick, juicy slice at every restaurant I've been to but they brought out three thin slices that was dry and brown. Very disappointing. We did like the ribs as they were flavorful and very meaty. The pulled pork was basic, nothing special. But all of their homemade sauces were delicious. We all felt they were a bit on the pricey side, especially for lunch, and agreed we've had much better BBQ at a better price

The food here was fantastic! My dad had the brisket & it was incredibly tender and flavorful. Mom had the chopped chicken & it was delish! I had the pulled pork sandwich with provolone and collard greens. Yeah, I know it may sound like an odd combo, but it was AMAZING! And with a side of the baked beans? YUM! Service was super friendly and attentive! Food came very fast even with a busy Friday night crowd. We were so stuffed that we didn’t have room for dessert, which I regret because the options looked great: chocolate bourbon pecan pie, regular pecan pie, peanut butter pie....all so tempting!

I am picky about my BBQ. Everything I have had here tastes great. I judge BBQ by whether or not it needs sauce. Most BBQ has no flavor without the sauce but the BBQ here doesn't need any. That is a sign of good BBQ. If you like sauce, they have some great ones to choose from. Save room for the bourbon pecan pie or if you are like me, order it first and have it as an appetizer! That way there is always room for dessert. Stop in and give it a taste. You won't be disappointed!
