Have been visiting FUM since my move to Waynesville last summer. The people are friendly, the music is wonderful and the pastor inspiring! Am currently in the orientation class learning more about the church history, missions, ministries, etc. and will most likely make this my permanent church home.
This is the most community involved, and interactive church we have ever attended.The pastor challenges us every week, and our small group Sunday School class have become the best friends we have ever had. Plus, the Music program is amazing.
FUMC-Waynesville combines a large congregation of great diversity and depth with a warm heart, wide-ranging worship (new and old), great music, and extensive community outreach. You simply can't find a more vital church that welcomes Everyone.
In 1988 I came to work at First Methodist Preschool. It was a mission that I fell in love with. It is still that same mission to me. Having God's children fill this building feels my heart with love, joy, and blessings EVERY DAY! There is no other place I would rather be than sharing in the lives of children in our great community
I joined FUMC-Waynesville 12 yrs ago based on their slogan: "Open Mind, Open Heart, Open Door" and found that their congregation, ministers and staff were (and still are) dedicated to those principles, so it's much more than just a slogan. Their focus is definitely on loving God and neighbors, with emphasis on assisting those in need in the surrounding community and around the world. They have an absolutely fantastic program for children which, along with solid religious education, includes a strong mission and music component. Adult education opportunities abound, as well. Along with learning about and strengthening your Christian beliefs, it is very easy to find ways to give of your time, talent, and/or treasure in this loving environment.
